Jesus Heals The Centurion's Servant Summary

Early in his ministry, Jesus returned to Capernaum and was approached by a Centurion whose favorite servant was near death. Jesus agreed to go and heal the servant, but the Centurion stopped Jesus and said, "just say the word, and my servant will be healed". Jesus marveled at this profound confession of faith. The Centurion was a Gentile and a Roman officer. But he understood power and authority and knew that Jesus had both. All he needed was a word from Jesus and his servant would live!

This miracle is one of the best lessons on faith in the Bible. The Centurion came to Jesus for a word of healing, but you have a book filled with God's Word. All through the Bible, you can see God's complete plan of redemption. Jesus bore the entire curse on your behalf. The more you meditate on the Word of God, and the Centurion's faith example, you too can pray and speak boldly and receive all that God promises.
